What to do

So I recently had my first experience with a male. I'm male too. I've been thinking about being with him since I met him almost years ago but just now acted on it. I've always been a vocal supporter of lgbt and just thought I was straight. Reliazed months ago what I was feeling but was scared to act on it till we texted a few days ago.

We met up at the bar I was at and just talked. I eventually made my intentions known and we headed to a lgbt bar. We made out a bit but he was hesitant. I get the feeling he feels I'm only doing this because I'm desperate and will leave him for the next girl that comes around. I admit that's a valid concern but I know I'd never do that to someone. I don't know how to convince him otherwise. I'm at a loss.
