Bout To Taper. Any Hints?

This is gonna be a bumpy one. I've been a CA for 3 years now, and in the last however many months I've been requiring a lot more booze to do the trick. With that, I am no longer a functioning alcoholic...my work performance is poor, I have insomina/weird-ass sleep habits that have caused me to be late for work more frequently than is acceptable, I get rashes, and the biggest kick in the pants would be wetting the bed a lot.

The reason I became a CA was my general world-weariness; I have miserable anxiety and there have been occasions that I didn't feel like drinking, but I was entertaining suicidal thoughts so I had to get drunk and watch stand-up comedy or something so I wouldn't go through with it. I plan on seeing a psychiatrist about some anti-anxiety stuff (won't tell him I was a CA!) and see if it won't help. Otherwise, it's back to CA land.

I bequeathed my precious handle of bottom-shelf vodka to my sister, and got me some red wine in preparation for this (might as well get those antioxidants, hey?). I've viewed the tapering info from the sidebar, but does anyone have some good advice? I dunno, they tell smokers that want to quit to find a substitute oral fixation (lollipops, etc) or something else to do with their hands. Something like that, I guess.

EDIT - Tea and interesting shows for me tonight. No booze. Wish me luck, fuckers. I tap my tea cup to your drinking glasses, and say cheers.

EDIT EDIT - put edit 1 in the wrong fuckin spot.
