EDIT: I made this when I was tired last night. Here's a better explanation: Homophobic just seems like they're scared. Even though the suffix "phobic" means a fear of or aversion to, "fear of" is generally the first one that comes to mind... for instance, if someone is arachnophobic, they wouldn't dare touch a spider, let alone crush or hatefuck it. Or deny it rights to being a spider.
