Fixing a flexible table lamp

Hello,

I have one of those flexible, bendable table lamps that seems to have a loose connection near its socket for the bulb. It turns on or off with any shaking of the table or movement of the base. I have already tested the connection near the base and switch. Problem is, the metal body seems to have been glued to the socket and I am unable to figure out how to open it.
