Hey r/shortwave, I need some advice!

I'll be heading to Mali for a couple years to be a Peace Corps volunteer. As you may know, it's pretty common for PCVs to use shortwave for entertainment/news. But I have no idea which radio to buy! Amazon has them from $19.99 to hundreds of dollars. Where do I start and what am I looking for?
