German Redditors: American interested in moving your way in a few years...a few questions!

1. Are any of you aware of the relative ease or difficulty in immigrating to Germany?

2. How's the German sentiment towards Americans at the moment? I imagine it's not fantastic, but I would hope that we aren't all lumped in as agreeing with the idiotic things our government does.

3. Are there any really cool or not cool things about Germany that many people probably don't consider?

For a tiny bit of background, I speak a bit of Deutsch (still learning), and am on my way toward becoming a neuroscientist. So I imagine my career path helps me out a bit compared to someone with a less specific skill set.
