Is anyone else experiencing problems with minecraft.net?

I am using windiows 7 and in using Internet Explorer 8 (I know, I know, just hear me out) and when i try to get onto Minecraft.net it keeps saying "500 internal server error" Is this happening to any other Internet Explorer users? please help me.
