Reddit, do you eat food past its expiration date?

I'm not talking about a day or so after. I'm talking months, or even years after. My parent's don't care at all and eat things that have expired 6 or 7 years ago. Mind you, these things do not smell rotten or bad, but still, that's a long ass time. I usually limit myself to 6 months or so.
