Killing DCs

I got reported by my whole team after leaving a DC go back to base whereas he was right in front of me. I expected some support from the other team, but they only calles me stupid and dumb...

Am I the only one thinking we shouldn't kill DC and just let them back to base? I mean, do you really enjoy winning your lane because you took a freekill?
