Ladies of reddit who don't or rarely wear thongs, how would you feel if your boyfriend bought you one?

Basically my ladyfriend only wears panties and boyshorts, which is fine. I'm considering buying her a thong for her birthday though. She has never stated that she didn't like them, or thought they were trashy or what have you. So that being the case, if you were, or are of a similar underwear philosophy how would you feel about receiving a thong? Is it a bad gift idea for her?
