Reddit, what is your best/worst birthday story? I'll start.

It was my 20th birthday and I got to watch my friend almost die.

It was early afternoon, I think. I went to the creek near my campus with 4 of my guy friends and we smoked a blunt they had rolled. We got through almost the whole thing - it was decently huge - when things took a turn for the worse.

Someone said something funny, someone else laughed, I laughed at them, and before you know it we were all cracking up. We were all hysterically high and the laugher continued for quite some time. And then I heard it.

THUNK.

I looked over, and my friend had passed out and his head had landed on a rock. At first we thought he was joking but he was completely unresponsive. A friend rolled him onto his back and noticed his head was bleeding. He was breathing. But then . . . the seizure.

I'd never witnessed a seizure before and I never want to again. He completely freaked out. Started shaking and acting like he was possessed. Making funny noises and then rubbing dirt on himself and his mouth.

The fight or flight response hit us. One of my friends was a lifeguard and took action. I flew. I couldn't handle it. The friend came to shortly after I took a few deep breaths and returned. He was well enough to get back to the dorms. He later went to the hospital and what happened after is a story itself, but not relevant.

I myself went to my room and ended up going to sleep around 6pm after crying for hours. Happy fucking birthday to me.
