Have a question on filing taxes for the 2011 year.

My fiance and I have been engaged for about a year now and I came up with a question. I have been basically unemployed all 2011, she has worked the whole time. (Yeah I'm a loser but whatever, back to the question). If we get married in 2012 say, 1 month from now, can we still file as married for the 2011 year, or would we have to have been married in 2011?
