Activator + Vlingo as a quasi Siri substitute for jailbroken iPhones

Just thought I'd mention this little tip as I don't think I've seen it discussed here before. I jailbroke my iPhone 4 today and was playing about with Activator earlier when I remembered that I had Vlingo installed.

When I first downloaded Vlingo, in a state of Siri-envy, I thought it was pretty cool despite the lack of system level interaction that Siri has but I never really ended up using it all that much as getting into the app was always a hassle – a whole two gestures vs one button press, but it adds up!

Today, though, I set Vlingo to listen on start automatically and used Activator to enable it with a short hold of the home button. So far it's working great, even from the lock screen, and I actually find myself using voice control on my phone now. Again, it's nowhere close to a full replacement for Siri but, for what it is, it's pretty damn cool. Thinking of setting Dragon Dictation to triple tap for even more voice magic.
