In love with friend who is possibly breaking up with her husband. Should I make a move?
I've known this girl Jennifer for 6 years, met through a friend. We quickly got on good, she had some financial issues a year after we met, so we moved in together with her boyfriend too. The friendship was totally cool at this point.
So her boyfriend proposed; backstory with him being they met in high school, her first boyfriend, etc. So they get married after 6 months, and she moves in with him etc.
I've always been happy for them both, insanely so. Fast forward 2 years.
I started to really care about her over the last year or so, I don't know how it happened. But I've always pushed it out of my mind, and been a great friend. I've dated other women, etc.
So anyway, some news of cheating on his part has come around and she's going to find out [im not involved with any of this], so if this is the end of it, I'm curious what will happen. I'm mainly stressed about the pain she'll feel and wish very much nothing like this had happened to her.
However, in the past she's flirted, she always initiates horseplay, she likes discussing sex and always initiates the topic. But of course, sometimes she makes moves like this and other times she gets angry if I give her too much attention. But she drops a lot of hints of interest, though she's totally dedicated to her husbands love and affection and I can see that in her. She makes it apparent that she's dedicated to her husband. And I'm cool with that and glad she's happy; but it may not last the news she's about to get.
So anyway, if they break up and I decide to make a move, how long would it take for her if she's been in a 7 year relationship with this guy, for her to recover and be able to think about dating? Is there any timeline there?
I don't want her to heal and meet some other dude and I'll have missed the bus again. But I also don't want to wait a month and invade her or scare her by pushing the boundries too much.
Then again, it's possible there's no way out of the friendzone and the flirting is just girlish fun.
