It is socially acceptable for men to shave there arms and legs?

A few years ago when I had a very low amount of arm/leg hair, I would shave, and I always loved it. But after my body started growing large amounts of hair, and everyone else around me became wookies, I let it grow out.

A couple of days ago, a lady friend of mine told me i should shave my legs, and her lady friend agreed. So my question is, is it socially acceptable for men to shave there arm and leg hair?

Edit: I live in florida, and wear shorts daily.
