American student applying to spend a semester at the University of Tampere.

I have so many questions but really do not even know what to ask. Assuming I am accepted, I'll be visiting in the autumn and studying Computer Science.

I can go online to find out about the university, the climate, the scenery, the landscape, but I really want to know about the people.

What should I expect? Are you Finns open or reserved, are there holidays I'll run into, what do you drink, listen to, talk about?

Really any and all information is welcome and hoped for at this point!
