Help?

I have a 3 piece grinder. Top part breaks down the weed and the bottom part collects the kief,which it has a screen for, but what i was thinking of doing is ripping or tearing off the screen and making it so instead of kief going to the bottom part everything gets to the bottom part..does that make sense?
