Stripping the finish off my tele. Any hints?
I'm going to be stripping off the finish of my tele this week and I'd like to ask you guys if you have any ideas or input on this matter. I've read the stew mac stuff and I've seen some videos on youtube and feel ready to go at it. IMy new finish is going to be a clear coat.
And I did find my first issue already. The bridge appears to be glued to the body. Any ideas on how to remove it?
Edit 1: Here is a photo of the glued bridge: http://imgur.com/a/cky7i#0
Edit 2: I wanted to update you lot on this. I was able to easily strip off the finish with the heat gun, it was surprisignly easier than I thought. The little nooks and the sides were a bit of an issue but it came out really good. The bridge wasn't glued as I had previously thought, it's just that I hadn't removed two screws (out of four total) on the bridge. Once those were out, it just came out. I'm going to be sanding it tomorrow and getting ready to stain it. Thank you all for all of your advice.
