Question about non-reporting probation.
Hello redditors, I have a question regarding non-reporting probation. I am eighteen years of age and was placed on non-reporting probation due to an M.I.P, which occurred approximately two months ago in the state of Michigan. I will be on for nine months. I am confused about non-reporting policy in Michigan and cannot seem to locate any definitive resources online; thus, I have come to you guys. I would like to have an occasional drink but would not like to compromise the conditions of my probation and incriminate myself. My parents would supervise any drinking on my part and I would not leave my abode. I am certainly not willing to compromise my liberty etc. for alcohol. However, out of interest, if I was to have a drink would I risk the possibility of getting called into a random drug test? A drug test stipulated on the finalization of my completion of the terms would be expected, but I am uncertain if I should feel concerned about a random test several months before the end of my probation. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question, it seemed out of place in a place like /r/drugs, if there is a subreddit for legal questions feel free to redirect me. Essentially, can I have a drink or not? I believe the drug tests in Michigan register the consumption of alcohol within an eighty hour period by testing for EKG rather than the alcohol itself, so I cannot use the "one drink within a 12 hour period" argument to feel any level of security. If I get drug tested, I would fail it if I had drank. Thanks guys.
