First Post: Question on Saving a Shotgun Box

I was recently given a shotgun (Remington 870 Magnum Express). It is in its original box. Want to lock it up in a more durable case.

Should I keep the box? It's an older model, unsure of the year. I don't ever plan to sell it, but does saving the box "add value"?
