Windows explorer not working on my NetBook. NOT IE.

First time here in tech and hope to find some help withmy netbook. The problem is that the desktop loads but nothing else appears on screen nor can I access the windows toolbar via desktop and windows key. It takes a longer time to load the home screen and eventually it says that windows explorer has crashed.

It is probably important to note that I dropped it not too long ago.

Specs: Windows 7 starter Compaq mini 110

Anyway I can salvage this thing?
