I don't know how to move on
I just had a baby that was a result of a "whoops" with a friend-with-benefits. We never dated but were good friends in the year we knew each other before getting pregnant. To make a very long story short, I have developed very strong feelings for him and wish with all my heart that we can be a family together. A few moths ago I finally grew the balls to tell him my feelings but all I got in return was a "sorry, but I don't have feelings like that for you. I want to be a parent with you and a close friend but that is all". I am so heartbroken over this, it almost consumes my every waking thought. I know if we did try to have a relationship for the sake of the baby it would never work out and would make things even worse for the 3 of us. But even knowing this, I still can't get over the fact that I'm just not wanted by the father of my own child. I can't get the thought out of my head that if my own son's father doesn't want a life with me, then who the hell would? I know in a situation where I needed to move on, the best thing to do would be to cut myself off from that person. But given the circumstances, I do not have that option because I never want to keep my son from having the time he deserves with the three of us spending time together as a "family". I feel like I should also mention that he is a full time student and has a part time job on weekends that doesn't even make ends meet. So not only do I support my child 100% but I also help support him too. On top of being saddened by his rejection I also get extremely angry with him (on the inside) for not even supporting his baby. I know this isn't healthy and I don't want this to consume me any more. I'm sick of crying of someone who doesn't even want me. How do I move on?
