This is a doozy.
OK, I will try not to make this tl;dr.
So, here is the run down. I live in LA and a friend from back east ended up in San Diego for a business trip. We had been friends for about two years at this point. We ended up really hitting it off, and she had just VERY recently broken up with her boyfriend of 4 years.
When she got home we started talking and texting a lot and had came to the conclusion that we both really like each other and through getting to know each other even more than we did over the previous years we decided to maybe take this to the next lever.
She had initially expressed concern about just getting out of a long relationship and, and not wanting to get in to one again so soon. Also, she had actually been in a long relationship right before that one also. We kept talking as we both were trying to figure out if I was going to move, and if she was going to be OK with being in a relationship. I had came to the conclusion that I really care for her, and that I was going to move. She had said that she decided she was ok with her hang up too. She said that she could always be single if we didn't work out, and that I could always move back to LA if it didn't work.
I go see her for a visit, during which she tells me she loves me, I reciprocate. Over the next couple of months things remain serious. All of a sudden when I am about a month away from moving (which is right now), she decided that she is freaking out about being in a relationship again. She has said that she want's to be with me for a long time. Like, this was the best match for both of us that we've ever had. She still thinks these things but is now about to call it off because of her fear of being in a relationship again, and if this doesn't happen in the next few months I will have to sign a lease at an apartment and not be able to move again for a year.
I am not only dumbfounded that she said she was ok with it, then all of a sudden was not. I don't know how to feel, and I don't know what to do. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Ask if there is anything I may have left out.
