PSA: Newer players, don't fall for eBay scams!

I see around here that newer players are always looking to get their hands on large amounts of cards at once to start their collection. Some malicious eBayers prey on the need for people to have good cards and LOTS of them. Here are some of the types of lots to avoid (the links are examples, so obviously don't buy them):

1) Repacked lots claiming to be giving out extremely rare cards "randomly":

Of course they're not going to give you extremely rare cards 50% of the time. They probably won't even give it 10% of the time. Most people don't bother to leave feedback on mediocre items, but the VERY few that get something worth a dollar or two more than the repacked lot sells for will leave good feedback. This is NOT worth your money, no matter how many lots you buy from the same person. (Example). In general, always be aware of REPACKED lots. They might not be giving you what you think they are.

2) Lots claiming to sell cards that the owner "doesn't know the prices of.":

Usually it's parents claiming to sell their kids' stuff, or ex-spouses selling each other's stuff. These are most likely junk that has been picked CLEAN of valuable cards. What you're getting is literally JUNK. Sometimes it's stores trying to get rid of bulk commons from one set, other times it's individuals trying to get rid of their old commons and uncommons. Either way, it's definitely never worth your money. (Example)

Where you SHOULD be buying your cards:

Good resources are Abugames and Troll and Toad. Both of these website sell bulk lots, and they are FAIR with their card choices. If you really want to start off your collection or play with friends, I suggest that you purchase from one of these trusted stores instead of eBay.
