I just don't know.
I guess it all started when I moved to my new house which just happened to be adjacent to a cemetery. I was very hesitant at living there because the whole thing terrified me but I wasn't one to complain because my parents had already sacrificed so much to give me the life they never had in a big house in a safe neighborhood. Shortly after moving in my parents went out and purchased a Springer Spaniel which I called Gracie. As a part of the responsibility of having a dog of my own I was given the task of walking her once a day otherwise she would be anxious. Not having a proper place to walk her (the streets had no sidewalk and I was afraid of her and I getting hit) my parents told me to go to the fields behind my house which I had to cut through the cemetery to get to. After a few days of doing this my fear gradually subsided and I would let Gracie off of the leash to run on her own because there were never any people back there (I would soon hate the fact I was "alone"). I had been doing this for two years without incident until I saw an elderly woman who I assumed had been visiting her deceased husband. She was wearing a floral pattern blouse(I'm not to sure of the terminology for women's clothing). She stared at me from far off and I said hello to her as I passed and noticed Gracie 40 yards away chasing some sort of small animal. I then quickened my pace to catch up to Gracie and I could feel the old woman's stare on my back. A short time later I returned on the same path and she was nowhere to be seen. I had worried about her being out in the cold wearing only a dress type outfit while I was in all winter clothing. Weeks passed and I saw her again in the same area and still as I passed she had no reply to my greeting only a blank stare. I noticed this time she was wearing the same outfit and no car was in the cemetery at all. In my mind there was no way she could get back to where she was in this weather. 3 days ago I went for a walk at dusk. I regret this decision greatly. As I reached the spot Gracie began growling and the hair stood up on her back. My heart began racing and I tried to attach her leash and get the hell out of there. I attached the leash and looked up and she walked out right in front of me wearing the same goddam dress as the other times. I turned and bolted looking back after about 15 strides and she was gone. I just don't know what really happened in that cemetery. My parents came home and found me holding my shaking dog. Gracie has never been quite the same. I can't be certain if she meant any harm all I know is that when I finally worked up the courage to return I saw the tombstone she had been standing at had been for an elderly couple that had died 3 years ago.
