[TOMT] [movie] Scifi horror movie released in the last 10 or so years

I'm trying to recall the name of a scifi horror movie that came out in the last 10 years or so; I don't think it came out more than 15 years ago, probably.

The plot involved a space ship on some kind of exploration or colonization mission. The main character wakes up from stasis to find the ship trashed and full of monsters. Genetic engineering was a plot point. He rescues the girl, blows up the ship, and gets away in an escape pod. I remember the final scene of the movie was of the few survivors splashing down in escape pods in the ocean of whatever planet the ship had found.

This may not help significantly, but I remember thinking the movie wasn't particularly good but was still fun enough to watch. I also remember there being an actor I respected, who I was surprised would be in such a terrible movie.
