Houston, Tx is kind of amazing. Why aren't there very many movies or TV shows set here?

from the wikipedia entry on Houston:

Rated as a global city, Houston's economy has a broad industrial base in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. It is also leading in health care sectors and building oilfield equipment; only New York City is home to more Fortune 500 headquarters.[9][10] The Port of Houston ranks first in the United States in international waterborne tonnage handled and second in total cargo tonnage handled.[11] The city has a population from various ethnic and religious backgrounds and a large and growing international community. It is home to many cultural institutions and exhibits, which attract more than 7 million visitors a year to the Museum District. Houston has an active visual and performing arts scene in the Theater District and offers year-round resident companies in all major performing arts.

Its a large city, with lots of different peoples from many cultures, lots of business, a pretty unique geographic layout (would make for a very interesting basis for a map in a GTA style game, what with the highway layout circling areas of town) and yet so few fictional stories, shows, movies, and so on use it as a location. there are popular television shows on tv set in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and freaking Seattle! but Houston (or Texas in general) seems regularly ignored. anyone know why that is?

(and yes, I am aware that Chase was based in Houston, but I sort of feel that was almost incidental: the show could have taken place anywhere and it still would have been canceled just as quickly.)
