National News?
Today, I was having a conversation about a national news station with a colleague of mine. I was talking about how they were not entirely doing what a news broadcast should, present the news with as little bias as possible, but were instead pretending that the news was some sort of sit-com or reality tv show by leaving "cliff-hangers" (such as a story about nuclear weapons..."After the break") and adding in stories that honestly have no place on a national news network because the focus on one place and one event, that doesn't have a large area of effect or have any long term effect (think about the "feel-good" stories such as the ones about newborn animals at a zoo). So Redditors, do you think that the news could be bettered if it payed more attention to what was happening in the world and less to useless stories and ratings?
