Any other 2Xers plagued by wide feet?

I've had extra wide feet my whole life. Obviously this limits my shoe choices by a LOT. In some ways I think this makes me even more shoe-centric than ladies with average sized feet, because I've always been dying to be able to just pick the cutest pair of shoes off the shelf and have them fit perfectly. I get so jealous when shoe shopping with friends.

Even when a shoe fits me, certain styles (like peep toes) look awkward because of the shape of my foot: extremely broad at the front but narrow at the heel, with a super high instep.

I can usually rely on certain styles like flip flops and flexible ballet flats, but I just wish I had more options available.

I've had some luck with Payless, but even their wide width shoes don't always fit. And brands that offer "extra wide" sizes always seem to be super expensive and look like old lady shoes.

I guess I just want to see if there are more 2Xers out there who can relate to the frustrating experience of having wide feet, and any tips on where I can get cute shoes that will fit at a good price.
