Sennheiser hd203 for gaming?

I recently got a pair of really nice (by my estimation) headphones for Christmas. I was previously looking to pick up a headset for gaming... I was attracted by both the inclusion of 5.1 or even 7.1 sound and a mic. It seems that purchasing a separate mic is a very good solution to my latter query, but I am still concerned about the lack of surround sound on the headphones. Is it worth it to pick up a headset that offers surround sound like a razer megalodon or steelseries set or does it not make much of a difference?
