Need affirmation that I'm doing it right? (I understand that there's other topics that need more attention, but I just need a couple responses to agree or disagree.)
Have had a fwb for a while. It's long distance. When we started the fwb relationship it was agreed that if feelings grew then we would discuss it with the other person as to how we would handle it. (Pause the fwb relations, move on, become a couple.)
I would absolutely love for him to be in a relationship with myself, but I'm afraid that the pressures that come with 'being in a relationship' will only keep us from being ourselves when we are together. (The pressures on the both of us individually and together) Also, there's something about the title of being in a categorized relationship that frightens me a bit. Why can't it just be what it is? Why are there levels of being 'together'? But I digress...
I have chosen the slow and steady, go with the flow, in hopes that it will work out between us. Either we end thing, I wouldn't be heartbroken, just sad that I lost a really good sex partner and a kick ass friend, or we move forward as a couple and find ways to make our lives work with the other.
[I have chosen to go with the slow and steady, go with the flow, because I go to school full time and work, and he has a full time job about 2 hours away. Yeah we have the weekends which is really nice, but we get so involved with our own goings-on that we sort of push each other in to the background. So as much as we would like to be together, it's the pressures involved. Would this be what you call fear of commitment?]
sorry about the scattered paragraphs, hopefully they'll make sense?
