Can Reddit find holes in my time theory?

Daylight Saving Time gives us more daylight in summer and less in winter. That's the only reason it exists. Some countries use it, some don't. Some states/regions use it, some don't. Confusing much?

Why not make a simple time schedule. At sunrise, it's 1:00. It's like this year round. There is no AM/PM. The last hour before sunrise is 24:00.

The current system: sunrise is anywhere from 6:30-8:00 (in Atlanta). The new system: sunrise is 1:00. People would always know when the sun rises. This is very important as humans rely on sunlight for many purposes. Also, sunrise could function as an alarm clock every morning (great for circadian rhythm).

Places near the poles have long days in summer and short days in winter (Antarctica, Alaska etc). Each day is still 24 hours long, but the amount of daylight in each day is highly variable. Example: The sun rises at 1:00 and sets at 6:00 (winter). The sun rises at 1:00 and sets at 19:00 (summer).

Places near the equator have consistent daylight year round. Example: The sun rises at 1:00 and sets at 12:06 (winter). The sun rises at 1:00 and sets at 12:02 (summer).

The Egyptians were right. We are slaves to the almighty sun!
