    r/Skyrim! It's a Christmas miracle! (Spoiler involved.)

So, back-story: When I raced off to kill the emperor for real, when he was on his boat, I was a little excited. I drove Shadowmere off a cliff, and heard a noise, and Shadowmere died. There was and may still be this bug where she can die if you fall off of a cliff that's too high. Anyway, I was too into the job of assassinating the emperor, and considered it a good story point. 'The swift assassin lost his one companion, Shadowmere, in his hurry to take out his target.' Afterwards though, when I wanted my horse again, I was sad, but had saved over all of my saves since the death. So, sadly, I was left with no horse, not willing to pay 1000 gold for a horse that didn't even come close to my old one. But today I played for the first time since like the 18th, and I was running to some cave somebody told me to go to in the tundra, when all of a sudden, who do I run into, but Shadowmere! I was so excited, I almost cried.

TL;DR- My invincible horse died, then Santa brought her back to life.
