Girls, have you ever noticed if a guy tried to use pickup artistry tactics on you?
I have a bone to pick with you all. I was just reading the post by the girl who's friend pointed out to her that the guy she was with was 'neg-hitting' her
I just read about what 'neg-hitting' was and it got me thinking - have you ever been out on a date where you knew the guy was using generic pickup artistry tactics on you? How would you feel about it? As a girl who used to read a lot of this stuff for fun, I know a fair bit about 'the secret society of pick up artists'. I just find psychological/social experiments like that incredibly interesting although I'm not necessarily for or against them being used on me.
The only time I think something similar has ever happened to me was when I was on a date with a guy who I was getting to know more. He ordered a milkshake with a straw. About 5 minutes into the date he asked if I would like a taste of the milkshake. Without thinking I said 'yes please', took the milkshake and instead of sipping from the straw I sipped from the glass edge. He seemed to watch me super closely as this happened and I swear I could see the cogs turning in his head.... It was after I noticed this that I remembered something I had read about how men can tell whether or not a woman is interested in them. The trick is to supposedly let the woman sip from your drink and if they sip from the same place your mouth has been (in this case it was the straw) then it means they are into you, but if they purposefully switch to a different place to sip from it means they aren't into you... SUPPOSEDLY.
I'm fairly sure the guy I was on a date with was using this trick. It's just completely ironic because I was badly into him but years of 'don't share germs with other people's drinks' was drummed into me by my parents meant I especially didn't put my mouth where his had been. Anyway after this I was so nervous in the date because I kept thinking 'did he seriously just use a mind game on me to gauge if I'm interested' !
So has this ever happened to you?
TL;DR - See title!
