Question about Poppy's Ultimate

So, lets say you have a 5v5 fight and poppy sets up her diplomatic immunity on an already weakened character and that character dies before the 6 seconds are up. Does that mean that she still takes no damage at all from anything, or does the effect end once the character dies?
