Approaching 3000 torrents running in uTorrent. Having some growing concerns.

I'm getting close to having 3000 torrents in utorrent and I've been having some computer problems and I wasn't to sure if they were related. I know 3000 torrent's is a lot for any client, but I wasn't sure if I should consider switching to a different client, I have a good computer (i2500k @ 4GHz, 8GB RAM, 6950 CF) but I think it might be taking a toll on my internet connection. I have it throttled obviously, but I've been having really bad performance just loading up websites recently. I checked what was using my bandwidth and didn't come up with anything...I thought it could be trying to connect to to many peers...maybe that could be messing up my connection? I'm not to good with these things.

I'm a digital hoarder and like to do my best to seed everything as long as possible, but how far do I have until my utorrent is using up 500kb of memory (it's around 200 now) and are there things I'm not thinking about that could are going to possible come up as I get more and more torrents. I really just want to keep my client running well as I've put in a lot of time into maintaining it.
