New Year's Fashion - Please Help!

Here's the story.. I'm going to a formal (as formal as college kids get anyways) New Year's Eve Party this year, and am getting so anxious about what to wear/hair/makeup/everything.

Would love if you guys could offer any advice on my outfit (jewelry, shoes, accessories, anything!), I've found a couple dresses online ( dress 1, dress 2 ) that I think I like.. Are these dresses any good? Will try and find something similar when I go shopping if possible.

Seriously so clueless to this. Any thoughts/suggestions would be SO appreciated!! Sorry for the ramble!
