Samsung galaxy tab- Help! I have lost my charger. Will a universal wall charger work?

I just had my Samsung galaxy tab charger taken from my hotel room. I have been left with just the USB cord. Anyone know if a universal wall charger will work on this. I checked online and another samsung charger costs 49.99 and I can't afford that. I tried to use my iPhone wall charger adapter to charge it and it doesn't work. A universal charger will cost about 20 but does anyone know if this will work?
