Hey guys, probably moving to your area from Eugene. Possibly as soon as in the next few weeks. Pro tips? Anything worth doing there on new years?

I know there's not that many people in this subreddit, and previous attempts at similar threads didn't go so far, but I'll give this a whirl and see what happens.

So I'm still kinda new to Oregon. Moved here to Eugene from Florida 3 years ago, and I now landed a sweet new gig that that allows me to work completely remote. I've got the itch to come live in the mountains, I think Bend can scratch it.

I moved here with my job so I knew some people here in Eugene prior to living here, but I don't know a single person in Bend/Redmond. I'm kinda hitting 'reset' on the whole life thing, and want to be surrounded by beauty and nature. Have always loved Bend the couple times I've visited.

Things I'm curious about:

• Advice for someone who's never lived in anything but suburbia.
• It's been an odd and hot Winter, what are the odds of me being able to get a uhaul across the pass without needing chains for the next month?
• How is internet coverage is rural areas, like southwest Bend, Tumalo, or Sunriver?
• What are some of the best unknown things about Bend?

I'm into:

• music (playing, listening)
• working out
• outdoors stuff (camping, hiking, floating, fishing)
• am also quickly becoming addicted to mountain biking

Is it also safe to assume that with only 50 subscribers, there's never been a Bend meetup before?
