Oh my god, Trader Joe's is having a fire!...sale. On coconut oil! Oh, the burning!
I could not believe my eyes... $5.99 for a 16oz jar of organic virgin coconut oil at TJ's. Last time I bought coconut oil, it was the Barlean's brand and was $17.
However, I did not buy it, because I could not believe this was actually the product I wanted at such a great price. I know that coconut oil comes in a variety of forms but I couldn't remember what was what (I know expeller pressed is good... extra virgin is good too...). So, I googled. And apparently the kind folks at Mark's Daily Apple have also figured this out: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread42446.html
So apparently it's legit, even though the label says nothing about expeller pressed, but I like the sound of "organic" and "virgin." after some more googling, I now understand oils much better. Amazing. I must return for their entire stock. Trader Joe's never ceases to hold the key to my heart.
I saw a post on here several months ago about six dollar coconut oil from amazon; that was news to me. But now it's even easier to get waahooo!
