I'm thinking of a tattoo of a galaxy, need advice on the execution.

I want this to humble me and remind me that my atoms were forged in stars. However, I also really want a tattoo that seems organic, which will not just be a block of ink, but will cleanly transform into my skin. Meaning I don't want to able to tell a definitive line where the tattoo ends. (Sorry if that is confusing, feel free to ask more if I don't make sense.) Because a galaxy would seem to need a black background, I don't know how to get one that doesn't seem sectioned off. Any advice?
