Info on PC gaming?

Ok I just ordered a gaming PC from ibuypower. I put a bunch of effort into making it work awesome for many games (i wouldn't say its the best out there by a long shot). So I was just wondering what all i needed to know about PC gaming. I have already made a Steam account, and found out why it's so muthaf**king awesome. My only experience on PC gaming is playing Halflife on a shitty laptop.

TL;DR - Getting a gaming PC, wanting to know details about PC gaming since I'm used to only console.
