Biological Advice: Besties sharing UTI like girl share periods
Warning: This could fit in another /ask sub forum but I'm lost as this is my first out in reddit. If you can point me in a more appropriate direction I'd appreciate it.
If not here's the deal: I met my bestest "girl" friend in the world a couple of years ago. I got a job through her bro, and we (his sister and I) ended up being preschool teachers together. On top of having a great relationship with her brother and also because of that, her mom as well, we ended up becoming two peas in a pod. She was and is the best girl relationship I've ever had with anyone. On top of spending ten hours a day together five days a week we also spend most of our free time together as well.
Now that I've established the friendship: I've never in my life up until then ever had a Urinary Track Infection. Ever. As we became close I came to find that she had always had a reoccurring problem with them. Not too soon after (or during I didn't track it) this I got my first uti. In the next three years we were our closest I had at least 7 separate uti's.
They all went away on their own however I've always, in the back of my head, been intrigued and the question popped in my head just now: Is it actually possible to contract uti's sympathetically? Or I don't even know what to call it. I just found it extremely coincidental that I had never gotten one prior and since we've been busy with our own lives lately I haven't gotten one since we've grown apart. I know girls can sync their periods, is there any scientific possibility that this could be my past issues with uti'ss as well?
TL;DR Only ever had UTI's when I was very close to another girl who regularly dealt with UTI's- Just coincidence?
