Why are my /r/AskReddit submissions not appearing?

Here are two examples:

http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/nup44/what_the_shit_is_so_good_about_los_angeles_anyway/

http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/ntwii/my_girlfriend_drinks_a_beer_or_two_every_morning/

These never appeared in /new, and they have no votes or comments, suggesting that nobody else can see them. Any idea what's going on?
