I have had three experiences that I cannot explain. Help?

Alright I have a few ghostly experiences to share with my fellow Redditors. They may have been dreams (and that's what I want to believe) but the experiences were simply too real. On two accounts, I awoke in the middle of the night to be faced down in my pillow. I could not move anything at all no matter how hard I tried to move. It felt as if 1000 pounds of pressure was upon my entire body trying to suffocate me. On one of these accounts, I was able to turn my head to and try to yell as loud as I could for my mom in the other room. All that came out was a whisper. On a third and final experience, I awoke once again in the middle of the night. Everything seemed fine in the room until I felt some sort of presence come over my body. I don't know how to explain it because you have to experience it to know what it feels like. It quickly moved from my ankles up to my throat and it literally started to suffocate me once again. I felt a forearm pressing down on my neck and I tried fighting it off. After about five seconds I was released and I felt as if my room returned to my normal state. I didn't want to leave my room because I was way too scared to leave my bed and I didn't want to wander into another "presence". Whats really weird about this is that a few days before when I got into bed, I am almost certain that I heard footsteps in front of the end of my bed.

I don't know what to conclude from these "experiences" so I need help. I was raised Catholic, was never really religious and I question gods existence quite often. You may think I'm crazy or you may think that I'm an idiot and these are just dreams. But before you jump to conclusions remember that you may have never actually experienced what I did. I told my best friend about this and he automatically concluded that they were dreams. This is why I am posting this, I am looking for logical somewhat complex answers. So please share your opinions and leave comments. Thanks :)
