Alone on New Year's

Is it strange to want to spend New Year's alone? I've been invited to this party and there will be plenty of people I haven't seen in awhile. I am starting to feel like I want to be reclusive, though. I have been considering the reasons I do not want to go and I think I might be depressed; this still does not make me want to reconsider.
