Theoretically, you don't need to be a Pegasus to fly?

I was thinking, unicorns can pick up things with their magic. It also canon that unicorns can pick up other ponies with their magic. It is also canon that unicorns can use magic on other unicorns, as true in the instance of twilight and rarity in the sonic rainboom episode. Knowing all of this, what if two unicorns, picked each other up with magic? And then theoretically, achieved flight by staying within range of each other to use magic and hold each other up, and fly indefinitely (Or until one of them can no longer use magic)? Considering this possibility, could a pair unicorns achieve flight by using magic on each other? There is no canon variable that says this isn't possible, so what do you guys think?

As far as we know, unicorns can not use magic on themselves, because we have not seen them do so yet.

Also, I am aware that twilight sparkle can use magic on herself. But she's twilight f*cking sparkle. The most (canon) gifted magic user next to celestia, luna, and discord themselves. We have seen no other unicorn teleport, and knowing that twilight is gifted in magic, we can assume that the other unicorns do not have the affinity or skill level to achieve this level of magic usage. So this unicorn flight theory would mostly apply to your average unicorn.

The fact of the matter is not if unicorns can fly, yes I'm sure they can fly by manipulating an object underneath their feet into the air while they stand on it or something, but the point I'm trying to get across is specifically: Can two average unicorns achieve flight by using magic on each other?

Thoughts?

Edit: I want you guys to try and disprove this theory using canon evidence from the show.
