What is the worst eye-contact you have ever had to endure?

I can't remember any worse than just happened on boxing day. Girlfriend's family were arguing about their grandpa (if he should give up his car, go into a home etc) while he was in the room, I made eye-contact with him and he looked as if he was about to cry. Felt bad.
