A Book newb who needs advice :)

I want to get back into reading on a daily basis. I haven't read a book that isn't a text book for a couple years and I could use some help.

My real issues are that I have no idea what to start reading and I am pretty poor so I don't know what I should do about obtaining books, very cheaply or free.

I would like to own the books though and start a collection, I don't really want to go to a library or use some type of service like netflix.

If there is a website or even a place I can go that can help me out please be kind and share your special knowledge with this newbish book wanting redditor :)
