What's your preferred map seed - Valley, Hills, or Mountain?
After playing through Year 2 to see how I feel about them all, I think I'm a fan of the Valley since I like to dig so much.

Mountain 55555555 has a really nice large and high plateau in the corner with enough fertile soil to grow food for 10+ settlers
I haven't had a single raid break through my front gate on Survival, Difficult yet.
Other than that, 810551979 Hillside has plenty of flat ground, but also an existing moat / river that cuts the map into half. Id like to build next to the natural moat to make use of it.
PS. If you love to dig I think you'll actually love mountain maps: literally only the roof level of my castle is visible, the rest of it is inside the mountain itself
My problem with digging limestone is the time it takes.
If it wasn't so intensive, I'd be Mountain for sure.
